Clinical Supervision provides an opportunity to deepen your clinical skills and deepen your practice as clinicians beyond theories and strategies. Theories and strategies aside, while lending to the importance of professional and competent practice, connecting with clients and understanding who they are beyond their presenting behaviors or diagnosis and who YOU are-your blind spots, assumptions, and beliefs about clients and philosophies of change are essential to this privileged role we hold as therapists.
My approach to Supervision is similar to my approach to therapy, in that I value collaboration and relationship as essential to the Supervision process that is based on respect, authenticity, and transparency. Drawing from my skills and experiences as a Therapist and Educator, I will support you to get curious about your clients on a deeper level beyond their presenting issues while supporting you in your growth and individual needs as a therapist and to develop an insight-oriented, intentional, and compassionate way of both understanding and being with clients in ways that honor their individuality, need for autonomy, and the need for therapists to dig deeper with them, beyond strategies and solutions.
If you would like to engage in a more reflective approach to better deepen your awareness and develop your skills, I may be a fit for you.
Supervision Options:
My approach
I embody a relational, and process-oriented approach through a trauma-informed lens to Supervision and hold deep regard for the unique experiences of individuals. As such, I recognize that everyone brings their own strengths, knowledge, and potential to the Supervision process. Maintaining respect for your individual needs and experiences through a supportive and engaging framework is fundamental to my Supervisory style.
My Experiences
My 18 years of combined experience as a Therapist, Supervisor, College Professor, and Child and Youth Practitioner have taught me the importance of considering the client's needs from a holistic and trauma-informed perspective. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families and have learned that authentic engagement is about being present, genuine, and curious when building relationships. Further to this, the importance of maintaining healthy boundaries, committing to new learning and Professional Development, engaging in reflective practice, and dialoguing about ethical practice is essential to effective and competent practice as Therapists. Our work is truly a privilege to uphold.
